Aspen Community Theatre is an opportunity to participate in, learn from, and experience live theatre.
Aspen Community Theatre was founded in 1975 for the purpose of educating the valley in all aspects of the performing theatre, both from the standpoint of the audience and of the participants. Aspen Community Theatre is governed by a board of directors who oversee all aspects of business and production with no paid officers or staff.
Over the years we have offered classes in Shakespeare, dance, acting, voice, audition skills and technical arts. We produce an annual fall musical and, on occasion, a spring production. We strive to be involved within the valley schools through guest artists, instructors and reduced ticket prices; and, of course, production participation. We award an annual scholarship to a high school graduate who plans to continue involvement in the performing arts.
